Requirements
- Building permit required for new construction, additions, repair, renovation, alteration, moving, demolition, occupancy, and change of occupancy of every building or structure (City Code 8-1-3(A); Building Department page)
- Plans must comply with the 2018 IBC, 2018 IRC (parts I, II, III, IX / Idaho Residential Code 2020), and 2020 Idaho Energy Conservation Code

- Elevation certificate stamped by an Idaho-licensed engineer/architect/surveyor required if the parcel is in a special flood hazard area (City Code 8-1-3(B)(4))
- Recorded survey with visibly positioned property pins required (City Code 8-1-3(B)(6))
- Site plan showing proposed structure location and water/sewer hookup locations, approved by the city maintenance department, required before permit issuance (City Code 8-1-3(B)(7))
