Fire Sprinkler & Fire Alarm System Plan Review (Nevada State Fire Marshal)
Lincoln County's Planning and Building Department publishes no dedicated fire-sprinkler or fire-alarm permit, application, or fee line anywhere in its Building Department Information Sheets or Forms & Applications pages, and the county's 'Fire Protection District' department page (Panaca-based; Fire Chief Eric Holt) describes an emergency-management and burning-permit function, not a fire-code plan-review function. Under NRS 477.030(1), the Nevada State Fire Marshal's regulatory authority automatically extends to 'a county whose population is 100,000 or more or which has been converted into a consolidated municipality' being the ONLY carve-out -- meaning the State Fire Marshal (Fire Protection Engineering Bureau) has default, automatic jurisdiction over fire and life-safety plan review, including fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems, in every Nevada county under 100,000 population, which includes Lincoln County (one of the state's smallest and most rural counties).
