Property Access data terms of service
These terms apply specifically to PermitBase's Property Access permit-history API and search tool. They do not cover the free permit-requirements dataset or the commercial data-licensing product, which have their own terms.
Acceptable use
- Use property and owner/contractor data only for legitimate research, due diligence, or outreach about the specific permitted project it identifies.
- Do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute this data outside your own organization's use.
- If you store this data in your own systems, you must honor opt-out requests we forward to you.
- Do not use this data to harass, defraud, or misrepresent your relationship to a property owner or contractor.
What this data is
Property Access data is sourced from public, unauthenticated government permit portals and public-records requests. Every record reflects what a jurisdiction's own portal or records office published at the time it was collected — it is not independently verified against a second source, is not guaranteed current or complete, and the issuing jurisdiction always has the final word. A field PermitBase could not find published is left blank, never estimated.
Opt-out
A property owner or contractor can request their data be removed from Property Access at any time — see our Privacy Policy for how. Once a removal request is confirmed, it takes effect immediately and retroactively.
Governing entity
PermitBase's Property Access product is operated by Elevated Technologies LLC, a Utah limited liability company. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms, suspend a subscription for violating them, or discontinue Property Access with notice. Contact permitbase@proton.me with questions.
