SHORELINE DOES NOT PUBLISH PERMIT FEE AMOUNTS IN ITS BUILDING TITLE - THIS ENTRY DECLINES TO STATE A FIGURE RATHER THAN INVENT ONE. SMC 15.05.020(A): "All city of Shoreline permit fees shall be established by Chapter 3.01 SMC." Chapter 3.01 is a different title of the same code and was not read for this entry. WHAT THIS CHAPTER DOES PUBLISH IS A REFUND SCHEDULE, WHICH FEW CITIES IN THIS SET DO. The city manager or designee may authorise refunding of "One hundred percent of any fee erroneously paid or collected"; "Up to 80 percent of the permit fee paid when no work has been done under a permit issued in accordance with this code"; and "Up to 80 percent of the plan review fee paid when an application for a permit for which a plan review fee has been paid is with-drawn or canceled before any plan reviewing is done". THERE IS A HARD DEADLINE AND IT IS EASY TO MISS: no refund may be authorised "except on written application filed by the original permittee not later than 180 days after the date of fee payment."
