Codes adopted

Arizona has NO statewide mandatory building code floor for general construction — code adoption is a per-city/county authority under state enabling statutes (A.R.S. Title 9, §§ 9-831 through 9-840). The City of Kingman runs its own Development Services Department / Building Division and independently adopts and administers its own construction codes; it does not defer permitting to Mohave County, despite the AZBO statewide building-official directory listing a Fire Department contact for Kingman rather than a distinct Building Official entry — that listing is a directory data-capture artifact, not a sign of non-independence. The City's own Code Information & Design Criteria page and Code Amendment page confirm an actively maintained, independently adopted and amended code suite with a named Building Official (Sean Osterman, CBO, CFM).
