Lancaster has amended these codes and adopted them as the Lancaster Codes for Buildings and Construction." Requirements

PERMITS ARE ISSUED AGAINST THE LANCASTER CODES: "Building permits are issued based on the current edition of the California Building Codes and local City amendments, encompassing building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sewer work, state energy requirements, and state accessibility laws."
WORK MUST STAY VISIBLE UNTIL IT PASSES: "The work shall remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until it has been approved." Covering work before its inspection is approved undoes it.
APPROVED PLANS LIVE ON SITE: the city requires that "Approved building plans must remain at the site" and be made available.
CONSTRUCTION WASTE IS A CONDITION OF CLOSING THE PERMIT, NOT A SEPARATE PROGRAMME: "A minimum of 65% of nonhazardous construction and demolition waste shall be recycled and/or salvaged in accordance with Sections 4.408 and 5.408 of the California Green Building Standards Code.
