Requirements
- THE PORTAL IS THE ROUTE: "The City of Manteca utilizes our online Citizen Access portal for residents and contractors to obtain building permits, research permit histories, or schedule inspections."
- PRINT THE APPROVED SET, OR THE INSPECTION DOES NOT HAPPEN: "all plans and documents will need to be printed and available on-site for the contractor and inspectors to use during the construction process. Without these plans and documents being onsite our inspector will be unable to complete the inspection, and the inspection will be rescheduled."
- SOLAR AND BATTERY STORAGE ARE INSTANT AND AUTOMATED: "Symbium's online, automated permitting platform automatically checks for code compliance and issues permits in real time for residential solar and energy storage systems." The applicant enters an address, answers questions about the system, reviews the compliance analysis, then "Pay your permit fees and obtain your permit instantly!"
- BUT INSPECTIONS FOR THOSE PERMITS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE: "Please note that all inspections are scheduled through the Citizen Access Portal." The permit is issued in one system and inspected through another.
- AND A REVISION TO A SYMBIUM PERMIT IS FILED TWICE. In Symbium: open the original application, "select 'Revisions' and then 'Start New Revision'", revise, describe the change, "Pay the appropriate fee to Symbium and download all of your approved documents." Then in Citizen Access: create an application, choose "Revision/Addendum Request", answer "yes" that the permit was previously approved through Symbium, upload the documents, pay again, "and your revised permit will be automatically issued by the City of Manteca."
- FEE AND ZONING ESTIMATES ARE SELF-SERVICE AND ALWAYS OPEN: "For online 24/7 zoning or permit fee questions, visit the Open Counter Permitting Resource for Zoning and Fee Estimates."
