Roofing Permit (Re-Roof)
VerifiedRequired for re-roofing work in the Town of Mountain Village, reviewed as a Building Permit under the same Table 1-A valuation-based fee schedule (no separate flat re-roof fee is published). Roofing contractors must hold current ICC Roofing Contractor certification. Local amendments relax corrosion-resistance requirements for metal roofing given the Town's aged-metal aesthetic, but a Design Review Process fee applies for roof material changes reviewed by the Planning Department.
Verified 2026-07-06 · Source
Requirements
- Reviewed under the Town's currently-adopted IBC/IRC cycle; billed under the same Building Permit Table 1-A valuation schedule (no standalone flat roofing fee published)

- Roof Material changes also route through the Planning Department's Design Review Process (Class 1, Staff Level Review) as a distinct fee/approval from the Building Division permit itself
- Snowmelt-free roof designs (with snow/ice-fall safety measures at protected entries) are eligible for a 20% Building Permit Fee discount under the Smart Building Incentive Program

Solar Permit
VerifiedRequired for solar photovoltaic (and other solar energy) system installation in the Town of Mountain Village. The Town's Building Department Fees table (Table 1-A) lists a dedicated flat 'Solar Permit' fee line, separate from the general valuation-based Building Permit Fee table — $500 for residential, $1,000 for commercial — consistent with the Colorado statewide solar permit fee cap under C.R.S. § 24-48.5-113 (HB21-1284, $500 residential/$1,000 commercial). A standalone Renewable Energy System Only Planning Department application (Design Review Process, Class 3) carries no fee, as a Town incentive.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Permit
VerifiedMountain Village has no distinct EV-charger permit type or fee line — directly confirmed against the Town's 2026 Fee Resolution Building Department Fees Table 1-A, which lists a dedicated 'Solar Permit' (item 8) and 'Geothermal exchange as an energy alternative' (item 9) but no EV-charger/EVSE line item. A new circuit, outlet, or panel/service upgrade to serve an EV charger is therefore permitted under the Town's standard, valuation-based Electrical Permit (2023 NEC/NFPA 70), administered through the same OpenGov portal used for Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical permits.
