Requirements
- All new residential construction, additions, alterations, and repairs within City limits or the Grangeville Area of Impact require a building permit
- Submit a completed Building Permit & Plan Review Application to the City Clerk at City Hall, 225 West North Street
- Provide two sets of plans (18" x 24" or 24" x 36") for review, including a plot/site plan drawn to scale
- Residential projects must include a foundation plan (footings, stem wall, depth, rebar layout), front and one side elevation, framing type, roof system and snow-load rating, and cladding/roofing materials
- Exempt: detached single-story accessory structures/sheds under 200 sq ft; decks under 200 sq ft and under 30 inches above grade not attached to the dwelling
- If the project includes a bathroom or other plumbing, a separate Idaho DOPL state plumbing permit is required (plumbing is not city-issued)
- Permit becomes null and void if work is not commenced within 180 days, or is suspended/abandoned for 180 days after commencement
