Requirements
- New development, accessory structures, alterations/remodels, additions, repairs, demolition, re-roofing, signs, fences, and tenant improvements are all submitted on the same Building Permit Application, with the applicable 'Class of Work' checked
- Two (2) complete hard copy sets of building plans (minimum size 11" x 17"; commercial plans require 3 sets at 24" x 36") delivered to City Hall
- Effective 02-09-2026: a digital copy of the building permit plans must also be e-mailed to both ceckles@cityofkimberly.org and jtaylor@cityofkimberly.org — incomplete building permits will not be processed
- Complete hard copy sets include: Application, Warranty Deed (with legal description), Architectural Design Approval (where subject to a subdivision's CC&Rs), and New Construction Water Application form
- Site plan must be to scale and depict setbacks, easements, and public rights-of-way, showing all buildings, property boundaries, adjacent street names, curb/sidewalk, and entry-exit access points
- Floor plans with dimensions, elevations, footings and foundation details, typical construction details (cross-section, stair detail, etc.), and a completed RES check or compliance with prescriptive energy requirements
- State Contractor Registration number (or Idaho Registration Exempt status) for the contractor/installer

Required for demolition of a structure in the City of Kimberly, submitted either as a standalone Demolition Permit application or as a 'Demolish' class of work on the general Building Permit Application. Requires disclosure of asbestos status for structures built before 1975 and confirmation that utilities have been disconnected.
