Certificate of Occupancy (Change of Occupancy / Change of Use)

Yerington does not have a standalone change-of-use or certificate-of-occupancy permit application, checkbox category, or fee line item separate from the general Building Permit process. The City's own universal Building Permit Application (PW106) states directly: 'A PROJECT IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE PERMIT FINAL IS SIGNED BY A CITY BUILDING OFFICIAL. THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT WILL RETAIN THE ORIGINAL BUILDING PERMIT ON FILE AND ISSUE A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY AS REQUIRED.' A Certificate of Occupancy is therefore issued as the final step of an underlying building permit (new construction, addition, TI, etc.) rather than as its own separately-applied-for, separately-fee'd product.
