- A request for a Certificate of Occupancy is made by the owner or agent after final inspection approvals have been secured from all City departments/divisions involved in enforcement of pertinent codes, ordinances, or laws (UAC Section 115.3)

Fee schedule
| Fee type | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate of Occupancy | $50.00 each | 2024 City of Albuquerque Uniform Administrative Code, Table 112-A, Other Inspections and Fees, item 10 — reconstructed from the official PDF's row-shifted text extraction (the same documented trap as this table's demolition-fee entry elsewhere in this record): the raw text shows an orphan '$100.00' value immediately before item 9's 'Temporary Certificate of Occupancy' label (confirming that record's existing note that $100.00 belongs to item 9, not to item 8's demolition fee), and a '$50.00' value trailing item 9's own label line that — by the same one-row shift — is item 10's actual Certificate of Occupancy fee |
| Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (including each 30-day extension, up to 12 months total) | $100.00 each | UAC Table 112-A, Other Inspections and Fees, item 9, and Section 115.4 (extension fee); see reconstruction note on the standard Certificate of Occupancy fee above |
| Change of occupancy / change of use | No separate standalone fee is published — governed by the same Certificate of Occupancy fee above | UAC Section 115.1 treats a change in occupancy classification as requiring a new Certificate of Occupancy, not a distinct fee product; any tenant-improvement or remodel work needed to accomplish the change of use requires its own building permit, priced on Table 112-A's valuation-based schedule plus the standard 65% plan review fee |
