PermitBase

This is PermitBase’s published record for Brigham City as of 2026-07-08. It has since been superseded — see the current record. A historical record reflects what PermitBase had verified at that time; it may not capture a real-world change the jurisdiction had made but PermitBase had not yet verified, and it includes any errors we later corrected. Snapshots are never edited retroactively.

Codes adopted

2021 International Building Code (IBC) — confirmed as the governing commercial/structural code in Brigham City's own official 'Design Criteria for Buildings and Structures Located within Brigham City Limits' document (dated 7/25/2023), which cites 2021 IBC Section 1803 (soils reports), Section 1613.2.2 (Site Class), Table 1806.2 and Table 1610.1 (bearing pressures) as the governing sections — consistent with Utah's statewide Title 15A State Construction and Fire Codes Act framework (2021 IRC/IBC/IECC base codes, effective statewide July 1, 2023, per Utah Code § 15A-3-107).Utah Title 15A statewide amendments apply on top of the base 2021 ICC codes per state law; Brigham City's official Design Criteria document references the Utah-amended ground snow load calculation methodology (Utah Code § 15A-3-107) directly.2015 International Residential Code (IRC) and 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) — cited by name specifically for engineering/energy-compliance documentation in Brigham City's own 'Single Family Dwelling Building Permit Submittal Requirements' and Roof Building Paper Requirements handouts. NOTE: these two info-sheet PDFs appear to reference an older code cycle than the city's own 2021-IBC-referencing Design Criteria document (dated 7/25/2023) and Utah's current statewide-adopted 2021 IRC/IECC baseline — they are reproduced here exactly as currently published by the city (unrevised handouts), but the 2021-cycle Design Criteria document should be treated as the more current authoritative citation for code-year purposes.
