Published scheduling rules
- These are the fastest permits North Salt Lake issues — next business day after fees are paid, since no plan review is required. (Roofing / Mechanical / Plumbing Permit (No-Plan-Review / Over-the-Counter))
- The city is closed Fridays entirely — office hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, and inspections are only available Monday–Thursday (AM 8-12 or PM 1-4). Plan accordingly; the city states inspections are typically a day or two out even for a 'next business day' permit. (General)
- Permits not requiring plan review (most residential roofing, mechanical, plumbing) are issued the next business day after fees are paid, at a flat $50.50 Over-the-Counter rate. Permits requiring plan review (new construction, additions, ADUs with new construction) have no published fixed-day SLA — fees are only calculated after plan review completes, and the applicant is notified by email.
