Residential Building Permit
VerifiedRequired for new residential construction, additions, remodels, and structural alterations on land in unincorporated Juab County (outside Nephi and other incorporated municipalities). Issued and reviewed by the Juab County Planning and Zoning Department, which is organizationally and operationally separate from Nephi City's own Building Department — Nephi contracts with the county for planning services on land-use matters but issues and processes its own building permits under a separate competitively-bid contract (RFP No. 22-01); the county's Planning and Zoning Department independently issues and reviews unincorporated-area permits under its own Building Permit Application and Pledge for Building Permit process.

Fee schedule
| Fee type | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Building Permit Fee | Valuation-based; computed by the Planning and Zoning Department from the applicant's Total Valuation at time of review | Juab County Building Permit Application (co.juab.ut.us/Files/Bldg Permit Form.pdf, mirrored at juabcounty.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Bldg-Permit-form.pdf), 'FOR DEPARTMENT USE ONLY' section: 'Total Valuation $___', 'Building Permit Fee $___', '1% State Fee +___', 'Total Fee $___'. No separate flat-fee table, percentage schedule, or per-square-foot rate is published anywhere on juabcounty.gov, in Utah's Public Notice Website (PMN) filings for Juab County, or in any Juab County Commission resolution located after exhaustive search (county fee-schedule search on utah.gov/pmn returned only unrelated Juab High School athletics/program fee schedules and a Salt Lake-area Consolidated Fee Schedule, not a Juab County building fee schedule). The 1% State Fee is set by Utah Code § 15A-1-209 (Uniform Building Standard Act fee) and applies statewide to all building permit fees collected. |
| 1% State Surcharge | 1% of the Building Permit Fee | Utah Code § 15A-1-209 — statewide surcharge on building permit fees, remitted to the Uniform Building Code Commission. Line item confirmed on the Juab County Building Permit Application form ('1% State Fee +'). |
