Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit (New Construction, Addition, Accessory Structure)

    Footing/Foundation

    Before concrete pour — verify footing depth, dimensions, and reinforcement per 2018 IRC/IBC

  2. 2

    Framing

    After framing, sheathing, and rough-in trades complete — before insulation or wall cover

  3. 3

    Insulation

    Insulation installed per 2018 IECC/IRC requirements before wall cover

  4. 4

    Final

    All work complete per approved plans; Certificate of Occupancy issued. Schedule via Permit Center or call 602-506-3301.

Applies to: Commercial Building Permit (New Construction, Tenant Improvement, Remodel)

    Before concrete pour — per 2018 IBC

    Framing / Structural

    After structural framing complete, before wall cover

Applies to: Pool / Spa Permit (In-Ground and Above-Ground)

    Verify rebar, rough plumbing, and pool shell before gunite or shotcrete application per 2018 IRC/IBC

    Pool Barrier Inspection

    Pool barrier must be inspected and approved per Local Additions and Addenda Section 3109 and pool barrier requirements BEFORE the pool is plastered or filled with water

    All work complete; pool filled; equipment operational; barrier fully in place

    Included in flat-fee permit; scheduled through Permit Center. Verify installation per approved plans and 2017 NEC.

    Ground-mounted: Pre-issuance / Upfront Inspection

    Included in flat-fee permit for ground-mounted systems under 6 feet. Additional inspections may be required depending on site drainage conditions.
