Building Permit in Vallejo, California
Vallejo runs a Central Permit Center on the second floor of City Hall at 555 Santa Clara Street, describing it as a "one-stop shop" covering building, utility, special event, special use, signs, trees and landscaping, and temporary permits. Applications go through an eTRAKiT portal - and, unusually for 2026, the city also publishes a fax route for immediate issuance.

When you need this permit
- THE TRIGGER IS BROAD AND THE CITY STATES IT AS ONE SENTENCE: "Whenever a building or structure is constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved or demolished a building permit is required; the project must also comply with the City's commercial zoning regulations."
- THREE ROUTES TO GET WHAT YOU NEED, in the city's own words: "You can get the information needed to submit a permit application during office hours in one of three ways" - visit in person, "Call the Building Division on (707) 648-4374", or "Print building permit application at this site and fax in to (707) 552-0163 for immediate issuance".
- PLANNING SUBMISSIONS ARE NOT SELF-SERVICE: "You may submit application and files to Planning by clicking on the appropriate button above. A Planning staff member will contact you to let you know what fees are required prior to application processing." The fee is quoted to you before processing starts, rather than calculated by you at submission.

NOT PUBLISHED on the pages read for this record
No inspection booking route, ordered stage sequence, advance-notice requirement or daily cut-off appeared on the Central Permit Center or Building and Zoning pages. The city runs an eTRAKiT portal, which commonly carries inspection scheduling, but that was not opened for this record and nothing is asserted about it here.

- LAST CHECK-IN IS 4:15pm, fifteen minutes before the counter closes.

Vallejo's permit history isn't searchable here yet
This page covers what the permit requires. What we don't have for Vallejo yet is the record of permits actually issued — the history you'd search by street address. That is a gap in our coverage, not a statement about any particular property.
Your email, and the place — never an address. We only use it to tell you when Vallejo lands. Privacy.
