Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit (New Construction / Addition / Remodel)

Footing / Setback
Combined footing and setback inspection (policy effective 3/21/2024, per Building Official Chase Clark's contractor letter) unless an unusual lot condition requires a separate setback verification. Concrete must be 100% ready at the scheduled time — Bingham County does not perform pre-pour concrete inspections on demand, and an unready site results in a failed inspection and reinspection fee.

Combined Sheathing / House Wrap / Frame / Rough-Mechanical
These four inspections are combined into a single site visit (policy effective 3/21/2024). Portal frames must be left unwrapped for nail-pattern inspection. Work must be fully complete before the inspection is called in.

Insulation
Attic insulation depth verified against minimum R-value using installed attic markers (IECC 2018 R303.1.2); vapor barrier use restricted to unfinished basements per local climate zone.

Final
