Inspection sequence

Applies to: Solar Panel (PV) Permit

  1. 1

    City inspection of generation-system installation

Required by the Bi-Directional Net Meter License Agreement before the Net Metering License is issued.

  2. 2

    Sanpete County building inspection

Performed by Sanpete County after the system is installed; the passed inspection result must be submitted back to Ephraim City before Permission to Operate is issued.

  3. 3

Final inspection / Permission to Operate

Ephraim City Power Department issues Permission to Operate and installs/reprograms the meter only after the County's passed inspection is on file with the City.

Applies to: Single-Family Residential Building Permit

  1. 1

    Footing/Foundation and framing inspections

Sequenced inspections during construction per the adopted State Construction Code; specific inspection-by-inspection checklist not separately published beyond the plans and final checklists.

  2. 2

    Residential Occupancy Final Inspection

Sanpete County Building Department's 32-item Residential Occupancy Final Inspection Checklist (smoke/CO detectors, GFCI protection, egress, water heater strapping, grading/drainage, address posting, etc.). Item 32 explicitly requires 'Pre approval by city/subdivision official for final' -- confirming Ephraim's sign-off is required even though the county performs the inspection. Occupying a structure before an occupancy permit is issued results in a citation, per the checklist.
