Inspection sequence

Applies to: Commercial Building Permit (New Construction, Tenant Improvement, Remodel)

    Footing/Foundation

    Before concrete pour — per 2018 IBC

  2. 2

    Framing / Structural

    After structural framing complete, before wall cover

  3. 3

    Fire Marshal / Fire Sprinkler-Alarm (deferred submittal, if applicable)

    Fire plans reviewed, approved, and inspected by Building Safety (or the district Fire Marshal if in a Fire District) prior to occupancy

  4. 4

    Final

    All work complete per approved plans; note this is not automatically the Certificate of Occupancy where deferred fire submittals are involved

    Before concrete pour — verify footing depth, dimensions, and reinforcement per 2018 IRC/IBC

    Framing

    After framing, sheathing, and rough-in trades complete — before insulation or wall cover

    Insulation installed per 2018 IECC/IRC requirements before wall cover

    Final

    All work complete per approved plans; schedule via automated inspection line 520-866-6299 (call before midnight the day before for next-working-day inspection). Certificate of Occupancy issued separately — final inspection is not the Certificate of Occupancy for commercial projects with deferred fire submittals.

    Verify rebar, rough plumbing, and pool shell before gunite or shotcrete application per 2018 IBC/ISPSC

    Barrier Inspection

    Perimeter and/or intermediate barrier inspected and approved per Information Bulletin 010 before the pool is filled

    Final

    All work complete; pool filled; equipment operational; barrier fully in place. Final pool inspection must pass PRIOR to filling the pool.

    After wiring installed before wall cover; or service equipment installed before energizing. Call the automated inspection line (520-866-6299) before midnight the day before.

    All electrical work complete and operational per 2017 NEC; premises must be accessible with approved plans and permit posted on inspection day

    Required before concealing gas piping — verify no leaks under test pressure per 2018 IFGC

Applies to: Solar PV Permit (Roof-Mounted and Ground-Mounted Photovoltaic)

    Mounting hardware and anchoring installed per approved plans before module installation, if required by the plans examiner
