- Mechanical permit required for installation, relocation, or replacement of furnaces, HVAC equipment, ductwork, and gas appliance venting

- Duct design must be completed using Manual J load calculations matching the selected equipment and the contractor's submitted prescriptive insulation values
- For equipment change-outs: a final inspection is sufficient if the existing gas line is reused; a new gas line requires a gas pressure inspection and rough-in inspection before the final
- PVC vent piping must be pressure-tested and labeled with the test date and the name of the person who verified the test
- An air balance report must be uploaded to the permit prior to final inspection

Tips
- For equipment change-outs where the gas line already exists, only a final inspection is required; a new gas line requires both a gas pressure/rough-in inspection and a final.
