Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit

    Setbacks/Footings/Foundation Wall

    Foundation and footing placement verified against approved plans and property setbacks; concrete inspections are given scheduling priority

  2. 2

    Floor Framing / Shear Wall

    Floor framing and shear wall inspection prior to enclosing structural elements

  3. 3

    Rough-In (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing)

    Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing rough-in inspections are performed by Idaho DOPL (not the City); DOPL rough-in sign-off is required before the City's framing inspection can be requested

  4. 4

    Framing

    Requested after DOPL rough-ins are signed off and windows/doors are sealed

  5. 5

    Insulation

    Insulation inspection prior to drywall/finish cover

  6. 6

    Final (Building, plus DOPL Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing finals)

    All final inspections (building final from the City; electrical/mechanical/plumbing finals from DOPL) must be complete before Certificate of Occupancy is processed

    Foundation and footing placement verified against approved plans; concrete inspections given scheduling priority

    Rough-In (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing via DOPL)

    Trade rough-ins performed by Idaho DOPL; must be signed off before the City's framing inspection

    Framing

    Requested after DOPL rough-ins are signed off

  4. 4

    Final

    Building final from the City plus DOPL trade finals required before Certificate of Occupancy

Applies to: Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger / EVSE Permit

    Rough-In (DOPL)

    Circuit, conduit, and disconnect placement before concealment, if applicable -- performed by Idaho DOPL inspectors

  2. 2

    Final (DOPL)

    Charger mounted, circuit labeled, and installation verified per the 2023 NEC as administered by DOPL

Applies to: Electrical / HVAC / Plumbing Permit (DOPL-Administered)

    Rough-In (DOPL)

    Performed by Idaho DOPL inspectors; must be signed off before the City of Jerome's own framing inspection can be requested on the same project

    Final (DOPL)

    Performed by Idaho DOPL inspectors; required before the City's Certificate of Occupancy is issued

    Electrical Interconnection (DOPL)

    Performed by the State of Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, not the City, per the City's standing DOPL partnership for electrical trade work

Final inspection only: Demolition Permit
