    Bernalillo County Fire Marshal's Office Plans Examiners verify the submitting contractor holds a valid Certificate of Fitness and that plans bear a New Mexico Licensed Fire Protection Engineer's stamp before accepting the submittal for substantive review.

    Final Inspection / Acceptance Test

    Once the fire sprinkler or fire alarm/detection system is installed, a final inspection is required before the building may be occupied; the acceptance test involves testing the initiating devices, control panels, and other appliances to confirm installation per NFPA, the Fire Code, and the approved plans (smoke detectors tested using 'test smoke'), with an NFPA 72 Record of Completion and as-built plans provided at that time.
