Location / Height Compliance Review
Village Planning & Zoning staff verify fence/wall height against the applicable limit (6 ft side/rear, 4 ft solid front, 8 ft gate pillars, 6 ft along right-of-way), confirm the fence is not within the clear sight triangle, and confirm materials (no razor wire) before approving the permit.
Tips
- A fence or wall inside the 25-ft/25-ft clear sight triangle at a driveway may not exceed 3 feet in height, even if the rest of the fence line is allowed to be taller — measure this before finalizing your site plan.
- Gate pillars are allowed up to 8 feet even where the adjoining fence line is capped lower — show them separately on your site plan with proposed height and width.
