Unincorporated Millard County building permits

Requirements

• New single-family dwelling construction
• Additions to existing residential structures
• Any structural modification, alteration, repair, move, demolition, or occupancy change (UCA 17-27a-802)
• All residential dwellings in the unincorporated parts of the County require a Conditional Use Permit recorded with the deed, per Millard County Building Department policy (protection of the agriculture industry in Millard County)
• Residential structures with 2,500+ sq ft on the main floor and more than one story require construction documents stamped by a licensed structural engineer and/or architect
• Certified water source capable of delivering minimum 40 psi (Millard County Code 5-2-5; 2009 IRC P2903.3)
• Minimum electrical service capable of delivering 100 amps continuously (2009 IRC E3602.1)

Fee schedule

Requirements

• Complete demolition of any structure
• Utilities must be disconnected before demolition begins
• Water and sewer lines must be located and terminated before demolition
• Asbestos determination required — contractor or homeowner is responsible for determining if asbestos is present
• All debris including foundation must be removed and holes filled by the completion date, with a final inspection scheduled

No demolition work can commence before the County reviews this report and approves by issuing the demolition permit.
