Inspection sequence

Before concrete pour; verifies finished-floor elevation amendment (6 in above road crown / 12 in above gutter flow line) and design criteria compliance

Framing
Structural framing, shear wall method/locations, connections, egress per 2018 IRC and Town design criteria

Rough Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing
Combined rough-in inspection prior to wall closure

Final / Certificate of Occupancy
All work complete per approved plans; a newly constructed building may not be occupied until final inspection passes and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued, no exceptions

Verifies all utilities disconnected, all meters removed, and construction fencing in place

Underground Inspection
Sewer lines disconnected and capped within 5 feet of the property line; all underground utilities, footings, and foundations removed and trenches remain open for inspection; no debris may remain or be buried on site

All demolition debris removed; backfill and final grading/compaction complete; construction fencing removed; surrounding properties, easements, and rights-of-way checked/repaired for any damage

Progress Inspections (24-hour advance request)
The Town publishes no commercial-specific inspection checklist; per the Building Permit Requirements handout, all inspections must be requested at least 24 hours in advance, are conducted Monday-Friday, and work cannot continue until each inspection is completed and the Inspection Card is signed

Final / Certificate of Occupancy
A newly constructed building may not be occupied until after the final inspection and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued by the Building Official — 'no exceptions' per the Building Permit Requirements handout
