Solar Array (Photovoltaic) Permit in Ammon, Idaho
Required for installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic (solar array) systems in Ammon. The City publishes a dedicated Solar Array submittal checklist, but solar installations are processed and fee-billed through the standard Building Permit (structural/racking, valuation-based) and Electrical Permit (wiring/interconnection) pathways — the City Fee Resolution has no separate solar-specific fee line item.

Tips
- Ammon has a dedicated Solar Array submittal checklist (distinct site-plan and electrical-diagram requirements), but it does not carry its own fee line — the structural portion is billed on the standard valuation-based Building Permit table and the electrical/interconnection portion on the standard Electrical Permit table under City Fee Resolution 2026-008.
- An Idaho-stamped engineer letter confirming the existing roof can support the added array load is explicitly required, unlike some jurisdictions' streamlined/expedited solar tracks.
- Site plans must be emailed separately to the Planning & Zoning Director (cdonovan@cityofammon.us), while the rest of the plan set goes to permits@cityofammon.us.
