Inspection sequence

After excavation for footings is complete and any required reinforcing steel is in place; for concrete foundations, required forms must be in place prior to inspection

Concrete Slab or Under-Floor
After all in-slab or under-floor building service equipment, conduit, piping accessories, and other ancillary equipment items are in place, but before concrete is placed or floor sheathing/subfloor installed

Frame
After the roof, all framing, fire blocking and bracing are in place and all pipes, chimneys, and vents are complete, and rough electrical, plumbing, and heating wires/pipes/ducts are approved

Lath or Gypsum Board
After all lathing and gypsum board joints and fasteners are taped and finished

Final
After finish grading and the building is completed and ready for occupancy; a Certificate of Occupancy may be issued upon request

Required only if new circuit wiring is enclosed before final; conduit runs, wire sizing, and grounding verified; 48 hours' notice required

Red Lodge Fire Rescue schedules site visits to confirm fire protection systems are being properly installed and that the Fire Department Connection is correctly placed (sprinklered buildings)

Scheduled once construction is complete; all fire alarm and suppression systems are tested for compliance; a $35.00-$75.00 inspection fee is due at the time of inspection; the City of Red Lodge Planning Department is notified once all fire protection features pass
