Tips & gotchas
- STANWOOD'S DESIGN CRITERIA ARE IN ITS CODE AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR NEIGHBOUR'S: ground snow 25 psf, wind 110 mph, seismic D2, frost line 12 inches, winter design temperature 27 degrees.
- Roof snow load is 25 psf unless the structural engineer of record proves otherwise — the exception is evidential, not discretionary.
- IBC Appendix J is adopted only at Sections 101 through 111, not in full.
- Appeals go through SMC 14.04.020; the appeal sections in the IBC and IRC are amended out.
- No fee schedule was found in SMC Title 14 or at the city pages looked at — Title 14 covers adoption, appeals and penalties but not fees. Ask the city.
