When you need this permit
- Building permit required for roof covering replacement or repair on a residential property (residential reroof, not commercial or multi-family, is a One-Stop Permit)
- Commercial and multi-family reroofs are reviewed in 5 business days after the plan review fee is paid (not One-Stop)
- A mid-roof inspection is REQUIRED for all reroofing permits (residential and commercial) before the roof covering is fully installed
- If a mid-roof inspection is missed, the applicant has three options: (1) submit photos plus the Photo Submission Waiver form, (2) tear off 10% of the shingles and schedule an in-person mid-roof inspection, or (3) provide a stamped engineer's letter in lieu of the inspection
- Roof design must meet Centennial's 30 psf non-reducible snow load and 115 mph wind speed local amendments
- Roofer must hold a City of Centennial Trade Contractor - Roofing license (ICC F-14/W-14, or F-15/W-15 for shingle roofing, or a current Denver/Aurora roofing license)

Tips
- Residential (single-family, not commercial or multi-family) reroofing is a One-Stop Permit — no plan review, 1 business day, per the Building Permit Classifications page.
- Commercial and multi-family reroofs and stand-alone demolition permits share the same 5-business-day review track, per the Building Permit Review Schedule.
- The mid-roof inspection is non-negotiable — plan for it even on a simple residential reroof; the three fallback options exist specifically because it is commonly missed.
