Applies to: Commercial Building Permit (New Construction)

1. 1

   Foundation

   Before pour; 40-inch minimum frost depth (or ASCE 32 design) per Town Code 8-1-4; frost report required Nov 1-May 1 or during any freeze window

2. 2

   Rough Frame / Rough Trades

   Framing and plumbing/electrical/mechanical rough-ins (under separate sub-permits) before concealment; inspections are scheduled by the general contractor through the user portal — requests submitted before 11pm can be completed as soon as the next business day

3. 3

   Final Building Inspection

   Requires prior final approvals from Finance (if valuation over $100K), Red White & Blue Fire District, and — where their sign-off applied — Upper Blue Sanitation District, Environmental Health, Planning, Engineering, Water, and Streets; certificate of completion issued via email upon passing

Applies to: Residential Addition / Remodel Permit

   Rough Frame

   Framing/structural modifications complete before cover

2. 2

   Rough Plumbing / Electrical / Mechanical

   Trade rough-ins before concealment (if applicable to scope)

3. 3

   Final Building Inspection

   Requires sign-off from Finance (if over $100K valuation), UBSD, RW&B Fire, and Planning as applicable; certificate of completion issued via email

Applies to: Solar PV Permit

   Rough Inspection

   Wire/conduit routing verified before concealment

2. 2

   Final Electrical Inspection

   Typically same day as Final Building Inspection; rapid shutdown test may be required

3. 3

   Final Building Inspection

   Racking, roof penetrations verified; final painting of exterior conduit/junction boxes/panels required; both finals needed for full approval

Applies to: Commercial Remodel / Tenant Finish Permit

Applies to: Electrical Permit

   Wiring and panel installed, before concealment

2. 2

   Final Electrical

   System energized and verified; for solar/hot tub work, Final Electrical and Final Building inspections typically occur the same day

Applies to: Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm System Permit

   Rough-In Inspection (Sprinkler and/or Fire Alarm)

   Scheduled with RWB before concealment

2. 2

   Final Inspection (Sprinkler and/or Fire Alarm)

   Performed by RWB's Fire Marshal's office

Applies to: Mechanical / HVAC Permit

   Rough Mechanical

   Ductwork, flues, and equipment installed but not concealed

2. 2

   Final Mechanical

   Equipment operational; combustion air and venting verified

Applies to: Plumbing Permit

1. 1

   Rough Plumbing

   Underground and rough-in plumbing installed, before concealment

2. 2

   Final Plumbing

   Fixtures connected, no leaks, proper venting verified

Applies to: Roofing Permit (Re-Roof)

   Underlayment and Flashing Inspection

   Underlayment, valley flashing, and ventilation openings verified before roof covering installation is completed

2. 2

   Final Building Inspection

   Completed roof — Class A covering, snow-shed design, and all CWRC compliance items verified; drone aerial photography may be used

Final inspection only: Change of Use Permit (Development Permit), EV Charger / EVSE Permit, Sign Permit
