Codes adopted
California publishes its building standards as Title 24, adopted by state agencies and republished on a three-year cycle. A city or county may change those standards only after its governing body makes an express finding that the change is reasonably necessary because of local climatic, geological, or topographical conditions, and no change becomes operative until the finding and the change have been filed with the California Building Standards Commission.

- A TWO-HOUR MIDDAY COUNTER CLOSURE, EVERY DAY THE COUNTER IS OPEN: "Counters Close: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday", inside office hours of "7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m." This is a different shape from every other closure in this corpus - Ontario shuts for staff meetings at the START of two specific days, Palmdale shuts in the MIDDLE of all four.
- THE CITY PUBLISHES AN INSPECTIONS EMAIL THAT IS MISSING A LETTER. The page reads "please email Inpections@cityofpalmdaleca.gov", and the underlying link is mailto:Inpections@cityofpalmdaleca.gov - so it is the published address, not a transcription slip here. It is recorded exactly as printed because the mailbox may have been created with that spelling and silently correcting it could send mail nowhere. If it bounces, try the corrected spelling or call 661-267-5353.
- FOUR TEN-AND-A-HALF HOUR DAYS, FRIDAY CLOSED. Palmdale joins Fontana and Corona in the four-day pattern, but with the longest published day of the three: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- MAILBOXES ARE SPLIT BY FUNCTION: BuildingAdmin@ for the application process, PlanReview@ for plan checks and DigEplan, the inspections address for inspections. Same pattern as Corona, and the opposite of Rancho Cucamonga's split by project type.
- THE FEE SCHEDULE IS A DATED FISCAL-YEAR DOCUMENT: the page references a "Master Schedule of Fees FY 2025-26 - September 1, 2025" together with a fee change advisory. No amounts are recorded here because the schedule was not opened, but a figure quoted from an earlier fiscal year is stale by at least one revision.
