Residential Addition / Remodel Permit in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Required for additions, garage conversions, basement finishes, and structural alterations to existing one- and two-family dwellings in Colorado Springs. - Basement finish is a flat-rate permit type (Table A.1) rather than valuation-based
- For additions, garage conversions, and basement finishes: Regional Modifier of 0.27 of $169.09/sq ft applies for the building fee, plus separate electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permit fees are calculated per Table C (job/contract cost basis) — these are NOT bundled the way new single-family construction is
- Site plan showing the scope, dimensions, and connection of the addition to the existing structure
- Structural details required for any structural modification, framing changes, or load-path alterations

- Basement finish is billed as a flat $300.00 fee (Table A.1) — a notably simple, predictable cost compared to valuation-based additions.
- Unlike new single-family construction, additions/alterations do NOT automatically bundle trade permits into the building fee — expect separate Table B.1 attachment fees ($50/trade) or standalone Table C fees for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work.
