- Exempt without a permit (per the City's 'Who Needs a Building Permit' bulletin): portable heating/ventilation/cooling appliances, steam/hot/chilled-water piping within already-regulated heating/cooling equipment, minor part replacements not altering equipment approval, portable evaporative coolers, self-contained refrigeration systems of 10 lbs or less refrigerant or 1 hp or less, and portable fuel-cell appliances not connected to a fixed piping system
- Same Commercial/Residential Building Permit Application used for other trades, marked under 'MECHANICAL' Type of Improvement (New System, Alteration, Replacement, Exhaust, Other)
