Mesquite Fire and Rescue's Fire Prevention Bureau issues a single Fire Permit that covers automatic fire extinguishing (sprinkler) systems and fire alarm/detection systems together with several other fire-protection system types (fire pumps, standpipes, private fire mains/hydrants, etc.) — the department does not run separate sprinkler and alarm permit tracks. The billing structure IS published even though the rate is not: Mesquite Fire & Rescue's own 'Inspection Overtime Request & Authorization' form (FPOVERTIMEREQUESTFORM) states under CONDITIONS OF FIRE INSPECTOR OVERTIME PAYMENT: 'Fire Prevention Personnel requested to work outside their normal work shift will be compensated at a rate of $____ per hour, per person, for a minimum of two (2) hours, including travel time.' The dollar figure is a BLANK fill-in field on the City's own form — so the rate is genuinely unpublished, and the requester agrees to pay actual costs incurred.
