    Rough-in inspections for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems before concealment

    Insulation

    After insulation installed, before drywall — verify R-values match IECC compliance certificate

    Final

    All work complete; smoke/CO detectors installed hard-wired with battery backup

    Before requesting final approval, the installing contractor must furnish a written statement to the fire code official that the fire protection system was installed per the approved plans and tested per the manufacturer's specifications and the appropriate installation standard; any deviations must be noted with approvals attached

    Fire Alarm Final Inspection / Acceptance Test

    Required prior to building occupancy for fire alarm/detection systems specifically — a Record of Completion (NFPA 72 Ch. 1 Sec. 1.7.2.1) and as-built plans must be available; the acceptance test verifies initiating devices, control panels, and appliances, with smoke detectors tested using 'test smoke'
