Applies to: Residential Building Permit (CID)

   Foundation Inspection

   After excavation for footings is complete and required reinforcing steel is in place, before concrete is placed.

2. 2

   Concrete Slab / Under-Floor Inspection

   After in-slab or under-floor service equipment, conduit, and piping are in place, before concrete is placed or the subfloor is installed.

3. 3

   Frame Inspection

   After roof, framing, fire blocking, and bracing are in place and rough electrical, plumbing, and heating are complete and approved.

4. 4

   Weather-Resistive Barrier Inspection

   After installation of the weather-resistive barrier, before it is covered.

5. 5

   Final Inspection

   After finish grading and completion; final electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections must be conducted first. CID issues the Certificate of Occupancy after approving the final inspection.

Applies to: Fire Sprinkler & Fire Alarm Permit (State Fire Marshal's Office)

   Pre-Test

   Once fire protection systems are installed per the approved plans, a full pre-test is conducted in accordance with NFPA standards; failures must be corrected and re-tested until the system passes.

2. 2

   Final Acceptance Test

   A State Fire Inspector is dispatched to conduct a Final Acceptance Test at a scheduled date/time; approved/stamped plans, manufacturer specifications, testing documentation, and a representative from each system being tested must be on site.

Applies to: Placement Permit (Manufactured/Mobile Home & Small Structures)

   Placement/Setback Verification

   Zoning approval confirms placement meets required setbacks before the permit is finalized; the applicant is responsible for relocating the structure if setbacks are not met.

2. 2

   Skirting Inspection (manufactured/mobile homes)

   Scheduled 30 days from the date of occupancy, per the Placement Permit application.

Applies to: Sign Permit

1. 1

   Building and Safety Inspection

   Conditionally required if the sign uses steel or reinforced footings other than concrete, per the Sign Permit Application's Official Use Only section.

2. 2

   Electrical Inspection

   Required separately through CID if the sign utilizes electricity; the Sign Permit Application refers the applicant to CID for a separate Electrical Permit.

Final inspection only: Change of Occupancy / Certificate of Occupancy, Demolition Permit (CID), Fence & Wall Permit, Floodplain Development Permit, Re-Roof Permit (CID)
