Floodplain Development Permit in Bernalillo, New Mexico
Required when a project is located in a designated floodzone within Town limits, issued directly by the Town's Floodplain Manager under the Town's Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance (Ordinance No. 247). A Building Permit or Placement Permit will not be issued until this permit and an Elevation Certificate are complete.

- Compliance with Town of Bernalillo Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance (Ordinance No. 247) and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- If the property is in a designated FLOODWAY, certification is required prior to permit issuance that the proposed development will result in no increase in the base (100-year) flood elevation
- Elevation Certificate (prepared by a registered engineer, architect, or land surveyor) required for the 'as-built' lowest floor elevation of any new or substantially improved building
- Verification of other required permits (Army Corps of Engineers 401/404, EPA NPDES for land disturbance of 1 acre or more) where applicable
