    Fire District Inspection

The local fire district should complete its inspection prior to the building department's final; commonly performed at 4-way and final. Scheduled directly with the applicable fire district, not through EPROCESS360.

    Final Building and Final Engineering

Both required prior to Certificate of Occupancy for new construction

  4. 4

    4-Way Inspection

Both required prior to Certificate of Occupancy for new construction. Local fire district inspection (scheduled directly with the fire district) should be completed prior to the building department's final.

Applies to: Certificate of Occupancy / Change of Use

  1. 1

    Final Building Inspection

Required prior to C.O. issuance for new construction, per the County's C.O. checklist; see this file's residential/commercial building-permit entries for the full inspection sequence leading up to this step.

  2. 2

    Final Engineering Inspection

Required prior to C.O. issuance for new construction; not required for a tenant improvement project.

  3. 3

    Final Fire Inspection

Performed by the applicable local fire district (not the County Building Division) to verify life-safety systems, access, and identification; if fire sprinklers were required, a separate Final Fire Sprinkler Inspection is also required.

  4. 4

    Building Official Premises Inspection

Per Development Code Section 10-3-20(J)(3), the building official inspects the subject premises as part of reviewing the C.O. application before notifying the applicant of the determination.

Applies to: Commercial Tenant Improvement / Tenant Finish Permit

  1. 1

Only applicable if the scope of work includes redoing the exterior; windows must be installed and all exterior wall penetrations completed prior to this inspection

  3. 3

    Fire District Inspection

If applicable to the scope of work, the local fire district should complete its inspection prior to the building department's final. Scheduled directly with the applicable fire district, not through EPROCESS360.

  4. 4

    Final

All work complete; space approved for occupancy under the tenant's use classification. An approved final inspection does not by itself constitute a Certificate of Occupancy.

Applies to: Fire Sprinkler & Fire Alarm System Permit

  1. 1

    Fire District Plan Review

Performed by the applicable fire protection district (not the County Building Division) after the online application, fee payment, and plans/calculations are submitted.

  2. 2

Fire Sprinkler/Alarm Rough-In and Final Inspection

Scheduled directly with the fire district, separate from the County's own 4-Way and Final Building inspections. North Summit Fire District's fee schedule lists distinct 'Sprinkler Inspection' and 'Alarm Inspection' line items at $165.00 each, plus a 'Re-inspection' fee (same as the initial inspection fee) if a scheduled inspection is not passed.

Applies to: Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installation Permit

  1. 1

    Electrical / PV Interconnection Inspection

Not separately published as a distinct solar-specific inspection sequence by the County; follows the standard electrical inspection practice documented for this jurisdiction's residential-building-permit entry (e.g., minimum two 20-amp GFCI-protected circuits required for power-to-panel work, per the County's 4-Way Inspection description).

  2. 2

    Final

Final inspection sign-off for the PV system installation.
