Tips
- An ADU in Heber City is legally an 'Accessory Apartment' under the municipal code — the city's own FAQ states 'Accessory Dwelling Unit Municipal Code is the same as Accessory Apartments,' so search the municipal code under that term if researching independently.
- The recorded ADU Notice is a compliance document distinct from, and required in addition to, the building permit needed to actually construct the ADU.
- Renting out an ADU requires maintaining an annual business license — this is easy to overlook since it is a separate department process (Business License) from the Building Permit itself.
