Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit (New Construction)

  1. 1

    Footing Trenches

    Required for footing, trenches, formed footings, and drilled piers/caissons with reinforcing steel in place; includes rebar ground for electrical (concrete-encased electrode)

  2. 2

    Foundation

    Forms with reinforcing steel in place, ready for concrete, before concrete is placed

  3. 3

    Damp-proofing

    Required only for basements

  4. 4

    Rough Mechanical / Rough Electrical (underground)

    Only if part of the system will be covered by concrete before the entire rough-in is complete

  5. 5

    Roof and Wall Sheathing

    Before dry-in or house wrap

  6. 6

    House Wrap, Window Flashing, Flashing at Concrete Porches

  7. 7

    Rough Plumbing

    Made when rough-in is complete and water/air is in the lines per code; performed by the State of Colorado Plumbing Inspector, not the City

  8. 8

    Rough Mechanical

    All ductwork/piping completely roughed in, ready for drywall

  9. 9

    Rough Electrical

    Electrical rough-in complete, all circuits made up, panel set, grounding complete, ready for drywall but without insulation; performed by the City of Delta

  10. 10

    Framing

    Not requested until all framing complete, roof on, and all plumbing/heating/electrical rough-ins completed and approved

  11. 11

    Insulation (walls)

  12. 12

    Lathing or Drywall

    Prior to taping and finishing

  13. 13

    Final Inspections

    Electrical, Mechanical, and Building Final Inspections signed off by the City of Delta; Plumbing Final Inspection signed off by the State of Colorado. Certificate of Occupancy issues automatically after all finals are complete.

    Verifies the one-line diagram, disconnects, rapid shutdown control, and interconnection wiring against the Technical Permit's photovoltaic work type
