Tips
- Plumbing permits and inspections are NOT handled by the City of Delta at all — contact the State of Colorado Plumbing Board directly at (303) 894-2300 for plumbing work, even though the building itself is permitted by the City.
- SAFEbuilt reviews substantial building plans on the City's behalf ((303) 774-1388 x103); small projects like carports or porches may instead go straight to the City Building Inspector — ask which review track applies to your project.
- An investigation fee equal to the full permit fee applies if you start work before the permit is issued — factor this into scheduling.
- No specific number of days is published for single-family/residential building permits — the City's Building page places this permit type in its 'may take longer' bucket without a figure; call the Building Department directly at (970) 874-7909 for a current estimate before committing to a schedule.
