Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit — New Construction (Custom Single-Family)

    Footing / Foundation Inspection

    Required before concrete pour; verifies footing dimensions, rebar, and grade compliance

  2. 2

    Framing Inspection

    Required when framing is complete and before insulation or drywall is installed

  3. 3

    Insulation Inspection

    Required after insulation is installed, before drywall

  4. 4

    Drywall / Sheathing Inspection

    Required before taping and texturing

  5. 5

    Final Inspection

    Required upon completion; all systems must be operational; Certificate of Occupancy issued upon approval

Applies to: Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU / Guest House — Class I Accessory Structure)

    Final Inspection / Certificate of Occupancy

    Required upon completion; new Certificate of Occupancy required if use or occupancy changes

Applies to: Fire Sprinkler System Permit (NFPA 13 / 13R / 13D)

    Underground / Rough-In Inspection

    Required before piping is concealed; verifies pipe sizing, hangers, and rough sprinkler head layout against approved plans

    Hydrostatic Test

    Required pressure test of sprinkler piping per NFPA 13/13R/13D before concealment or final acceptance

  3. 3

    Final Acceptance Test

    Required final flow/functional test of the completed system, witnessed by Fire Prevention/Inspections, before the system is placed in service

Applies to: Swimming Pool / Spa Permit

    Pre-Gunite / Shell Inspection

    Required before concrete or shell is placed; verifies rebar, plumbing rough-in, bonding

    Deck / Equipment Inspection

    Required when deck and equipment are installed

    Final Pool Inspection

    Required before pool is filled; verifies barrier, fencing, bonding, and equipment operation
