When you need this permit
- Any enlargement, alteration, or repair of an existing building or structure requires a permit from the Building Official (§ 150.02(A)(1))

- Design must meet adopted design criteria: 30 psf ground snow load, 115 mph wind speed (Exposure C), 42-inch minimum frost depth for any new foundation work
- Detached accessory buildings/garages over 1,500 sq ft combined require a conditional use permit before a building permit can be issued (§ 157.129(D)–(E))
- Contractor must be registered with the City ($125 fee + insurance) if not the homeowner performing their own work
