Tips
- Single-family new construction is a flat $1,100 permit fee with NO separate plan review fee — this is simpler and often cheaper than the valuation-based table used for larger/non-single-family projects.
- Rock Springs' Mine Subsidence Risk Map matters: contact City Engineering (307-352-1540) early to check whether your parcel falls in a classified area, since it changes the required foundation design and adds a design engineer's statement requirement.
- General contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the City ($125 fee + insurance certificate) before performing any work — this is separate from any state trade license.
- The permit becomes null and void after 180 days of no work or a 180-day suspension/abandonment.
