When you need this permit
- Manufactured homes must comply with the National Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974 and Title VI of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as implemented by the Arizona Office of Manufactured Housing (A.R.S. Title 41, Chapter 16)
- Mobile homes (built before June 15, 1976, on a permanent chassis) and factory-built buildings are separately defined and regulated under Sedona City Code § 15.05.090
- City permit required for site placement: foundation/tie-down, utility connections, and zoning compliance (setbacks, lot coverage) distinct from the unit's state-regulated construction standards

Tips
- Arizona regulates the manufactured home's construction directly through the Office of Manufactured Housing — Sedona's permit covers only the on-site placement, foundation, and zoning-compliance layer, not the unit's factory construction standards.
- Recreational vehicles (travel trailers, motor homes, park trailers, fifth-wheels) are explicitly defined out of this permit type under Sedona City Code § 15.05.090 and are not eligible for placement under this permit.
- Same A.R.S. § 9-836 21/21/42 business-day review time frame applies as with the City's other core building permit types, per the City's Title 15 authorizing code.
