Tips
- Electrical and plumbing permits are NOT issued by Minidoka County — they are handled entirely by the State of Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) at (800) 955-3044 / dopl.idaho.gov. Apply to the county for the building permit and to DOPL separately for electrical/plumbing.
- County setbacks (30 ft from road right-of-way, 5 ft side/rear) are LARGER than city setbacks (20 ft from road right-of-way, 5 ft side/rear) — confirm which setback table applies based on whether the parcel is inside county or city (Acequia/Minidoka/Paul/Rupert) limits.
- Septic/drain-field approval from the South Central Public Health District and an approved highway-district drive approach are required as part of the site plan specifically for county (not city) applicants, per the submittal checklist.
- A permit becomes null and void if work is not commenced within 180 days, or if suspended/abandoned for 180 days after work has commenced.
