Residential Pool / Spa Permit in Chandler, Arizona

All swimming pools and spas in Chandler require a permit except prefabricated pools less than 18 inches deep. The flat permit fees are $110.00 for a pool and $55.00 for a spa (Fee Schedule §4.6.4(d) and (e)).     First inspection; no one needs to be home. Plans and permit must be available on site. For custom in-ground pools: reinforcing steel, forms, and structural elements before gunite/shotcrete is applied.

    Pre-plaster inspection (barrier inspection)

    Second inspection; homeowner must be present if the house forms part of the interior barrier or there is no interior pool fence. If an interior fence encompasses the entire pool, homeowner presence is not required. All electrical service panels must be left unlocked for the inspector. Inspections requiring entry into the home will not be conducted unless a responsible adult is present.
