Fire Sprinkler / Fire Alarm System Permit in Superior, Colorado
Fire protection is provided to the Town of Superior by Mountain View Fire Rescue (Mountain View Fire Protection District, 'MVFR'/'MVFPD'), a special district separate from Town government, per MVFR's own website: 'MVFR serves approximately 250 square miles including Boulder, Dacono, Erie, Mead, Niwot, Superior and unincorporated areas of Boulder and Weld counties.' - Mountain View Fire Rescue's Life Safety Division reviews installation and/or modification plans for fire protection and life-safety systems, including fire alarm systems, automatic fire extinguishing systems, and standpipe systems, per MVFPD's Fee Schedule
- An application for plan review must include the total value of the proposed scope of work (materials and labor); if the fire code official finds the valuation underestimated, approval is denied unless detailed written estimates support the stated valuation — final valuation is set by the fire code official, per the Fee Schedule
- Fees must be paid before the permit is issued; work completed without a permit is charged a 50% premium over the normal fee, per the Fee Schedule
