Inspection sequence

Applies to: Residential Building Permit (New Construction)

    Foundation / Footing or Caisson

    Before concrete pour

  2. 2

    Foundation and Damp Proofing

    Before backfilling — defects grouted and damp-proofing applied below backfill line

  3. 3

    Rough Frame

    Interior partitions, framing, sub-flooring, and stairs completed before cover

  4. 4

    Rough Plumbing / Rough Electrical / Rough Heating

    Rough-in of plumbing (drain/waste/vent, water piping), electrical (panel and wiring), and heating (ductwork, flues, hot water, refrigeration lines) before concealment; may be combined into a Combination Inspection

  5. 5

    Final Inspection

    All work complete per approved plans and applicable codes

    Foundation

    Before concrete pour, 36-inch minimum frost depth

  2. 2

    Rough Frame

    Framing complete, fire sprinkler rough-in verified for new detached ADUs

  3. 3

    Rough Plumbing / Electrical / Heating

    Trade rough-ins before concealment

  4. 4

    Final Inspection

    All work complete, occupancy limit and utility-connection compliance confirmed

    Rough Frame

    Framing, sub-flooring, stairs complete before cover

    Final Inspection

    All work complete per approved plans

    Requested once wiring is installed and the main panel is completed, before concealment

    Final Inspection

    All devices installed, panel labeled, system energized and verified

    Requested once wiring is installed and any new panel/circuit work is completed, before concealment

    Final Inspection

    New circuit, breaker sizing, and disconnect (if required) verified before the charger is energized

    Rough Heating

    Requested once all ductwork, flues, heating, hot water, and refrigeration lines are installed but not yet covered or concealed

    Final Inspection

    Equipment operational; combustion air and venting verified

    Requested after plumbing pipes are installed; underground plumbing, drains, vents, and water piping may be inspected together or separately

    Required when 25%-65% of new roof covering has been installed; secured ladder extended 3+ feet above roofline required for inspector access
